Clean Water for the Marawi City Evacuees

Recently, we conducted a Donation Drive for the Marawi City evacuees . Last Saturday morning, we drove around Cagayan de Oro to collect drinking mineral waters from friends and colleagues who wished to help.  We were able to collect boxes of safe and clean drinking water. That's more or less 200 bottles in all! We wish we could have collected more but we all have other activities as well. But we are still happy we able to collect that much in just a half day and turned it over to the authorities who brought the donation to the evacuees in Iligan City. We wish to thank our partners for this cause: Youteach - Region X, Michelle and Ex Cebrian, Sir Uriel Ancheta and Galileo Cagayan de Oro, and Sir Siegfred Correos.

School Supplies Donation in Taglimao Elementary School

Taglimao Elementary School is one of the far-flung schools in one of the hinterland Barangays in Cagayan de Oro and it is one of the beneficiaries in our School Supplies Drive. We have chosen the school as one of our beneficiaries because the students needed school supplies. As reported by Teacher Quette, some of her students don't have materials because their families couldn't afford to buy or don't have the capacity or resources to go downtown to buy the needed school supplies. Teacher Quette even shells out money from her own pocket to provide supplies for her students.  ( Students of Taglimao ES walk to reach their school) So, we gladly shared our blessings by helping Teacher Quette with the school supplies to be used by her pupils this school year through a School Supplies Drive. We weren't able to go to the school to personally give the supplies due to conflict of schedule but Teacher Quette gladly received the donations.  Seei...

Teachers' Initiatives supports Brigada Eskwela 2016

Teachers' Initiatives supports Brigada Eskwela 2016 Blogpost by Roxanne H. Fuentes Teachers' Initiatives recently conducted its first community activity this year of 2016. This time, we helped the Junior Chamber International Kagayhaan Gold (JCI-KG)chapter in its Brigada Eskwela 2016. Partnering with JCI-KG, along with its other partners (Ayala Foundation Inc., Liceo Dragonoids and Marymount Academy teachers), we were able to help prepare Gusa Elementary School for the incoming school year 2016-2017. In the photo: Members of JCI-KG to which two (Owen, Roxanne) are front  liners of Teachers' Initiatives as well. Last June 3, 2016, a Turn-Over Ceremony was conducted to which we were able to donate a computer set, toothpastes, school supplies and faucets. The program was attended by the partners, school administrators and teachers. We look forward to a great year ahead!

Christmas Gift Giving at House of Joy Foundation

This is long overdue but we just would like to share to you our project last December. Teachers' Initiatives became a partner to Gusa Elementary School 's outreach activity wherein we held a Christmas party for the abandoned kids in House of Joy Children's Foundation . We prepared games and activities for the kids and the kids also presented some dances to all of us. We also gave them gifts in the end, as per Christmas tradition. We would like to have this kind of activities in the future. If you would like to partner with us, please contact us here .

School Supplies Drive for Taglimao Elementary School

Hello everyone! We are helping out a friend who is a teacher at one of the far-flung, hinterland elementary schools in the city. As what she told us, teaching there is quite difficult since the students lack school materials and supplies. Because of this, we thought of conducting a school supplies drive for the 291 students of Taglimao Elementary School. In the spirit of friendship, your support, no matter how small it may be, will surely go a long, long way for these students. Contact us if you are interested in helping us! For our friends and contacts overseas who may opt to deposit any amount of money, we will be glad to accept them too and convert them to supplies needed by the students. Thank you for your generosity.
