Teachers' Initiatives, Inc. is a team of professional teachers and college instructors/professors devoted to uplift the social, moral, and intellectual well-being of those who are in the academe. The team also promotes the professional development of teachers focused in continuing education, innovations and outreach.

Objectives

To provide a venue for teachers to do outreach and social works.
To provide professional development opportunities for teachers in the form of training, seminars and workshops.

To raise awareness among teachers regarding their impact in the community and the society at large.

To give a venue where teachers can work collaboratively towards common goals.

To implement activities where teachers can enjoy when and what they learn.

Clean Water for the Marawi City Evacuees

Recently, we conducted a Donation Drive for the Marawi City evacuees . Last Saturday morning, we drove around Cagayan de Oro to collect drinking mineral waters from friends and colleagues who wished to help. We were able to collect boxes of safe and clean drinking water. That's more or less 200 bottles in all! We wish we could have collected more but we all have other activities as well. But we are still happy we able to collect that much in just a half day and turned it over to the authorities who brought the donation to the evacuees in Iligan City. We wish to thank our partners for this cause: Youteach - Region X, Michelle and Ex Cebrian, Sir Uriel Ancheta and Galileo Cagayan de Oro, and Sir Siegfred Correos.

Outreach Activity with the Lady Lawyers of CDOC

After the devastating flood happened last January 16 which destroyed most of our learning and instructional materials in school. Our school gets flooded most of the time when heavy rain comes. Not only that, our pupils who live near the river banks became victims of the flood as well. Some of their houses were partially or completely washed out. Some of the school materials such as their notebooks and papers could no longer be used. Because of that, I've been wanting to give something to these pupils who were affected by the recent flood. That is why when a group of Lady Lawyers contacted me for an outreach activity, I did not think twice of assisting and helping them organize an outreach activity for our school. School Supplies Donation in Taglimao Elementary School

Taglimao Elementary School is one of the far-flung schools in one of the hinterland Barangays in Cagayan de Oro and it is one of the beneficiaries in our School Supplies Drive. We have chosen the school as one of our beneficiaries because the students needed school supplies. As reported by Teacher Quette, some of her students don't have materials because their families couldn't afford to buy or don't have the capacity or resources to go downtown to buy the needed school supplies. Teacher Quette even shells out money from her own pocket to provide supplies for her students. ( Students of Taglimao ES walk to reach their school) So, we gladly shared our blessings by helping Teacher Quette with the school supplies to be used by her pupils this school year through a School Supplies Drive.
