Teachers' Initiatives

This is a super late post but sharing to you some photos from the project we supported last December, together with JCI Kagayhaan Gold and Gusa Elementary School.  It was the Christmas in a Box, wherein we gave out 450 health care kits and food to the 450 female inmates of the Cagayan de Oro City Jail. 

Recently, we conducted a Donation Drive for the Marawi City evacuees . Last Saturday morning, we drove around Cagayan de Oro to collect drinking mineral waters from friends and colleagues who wished to help.  We were able to collect boxes of safe and clean drinking water. That's more or less 200 bottles in all! We wish we could have collected more but we all have other activities as well. But we are still happy we able to collect that much in just a half day and turned it over to the authorities who brought the donation to the evacuees in Iligan City. We wish to thank our partners for this cause: Youteach - Region X, Michelle and Ex Cebrian, Sir Uriel Ancheta and Galileo Cagayan de Oro, and Sir Siegfred Correos.

After the devastating flood happened last January 16 which destroyed most of our learning and instructional materials in school. Our school gets flooded most of the time when heavy rain comes. Not only that, our pupils who live near the river banks became victims of the flood as well. Some of their houses were partially or completely washed out. Some of the school materials such as their notebooks and papers could no longer be used. Because of that, I've been wanting to give something to these pupils who were affected by the recent flood. That is why when a group of Lady Lawyers contacted me for an outreach activity, I did not think twice of assisting and helping them organize an outreach activity for our school. In our previous post, we asked you to help us in contributing the cause of DEPED CDO to give school supplies to the Hinterland Barangays in Cagayan de Oro. We wish to thank everybody who helped us. These set of school supplies were already turned over to DEPED CDO for distribution!

We are calling everyone's support once again for an outreach project for the hinterland schools in Cagayan de Oro. This time, we are supporting the School Supplies Drive of the DEPED Division of Cagayan de Oro.      For interested contributors, please donate the following school supplies and place them in a plastic envelope: 1 notebook, 1 pad paper (any grade level), 1 pencil, 1 sharpener, 1 box of 8 crayons.     Also, please include an inspiring letter for the receiver of your donation.     Thank you so much! :)
